If a child has been told since birth that the sky is green- not blue- they will grow up believing that the sky is, indeed, green.

If they’ve been taught that global warming is looming, Karl Marx had great ideas, Che Guevera was just a misunderstood dictator, the “f” word is just another “catchy” phrase, and drugs are the key to a happy, well-adjusted life, then they will grow up to mirror AND BELIEVE those ideas.

By the time our children get to college, they have been brainwashed, not just to believe that evil is good, but to balk at any authoritative figure, including their parents, who tell them otherwise. Young adults have been deceived into believing that their underdeveloped, undereducated, inexperienced brains know best.

How far we’ve come from the days when father knew best. How far we’ve come from the days where swearing in public was taboo, girls “saved themselves” for marriage, parents- not schools- were allowed to discipline their own children, families bonded around the dinner table, and kids were allowed to be “kids”.

Students of today have been kidnapped by our public institutions. Schools are gaining more and more authority over our children, no longer just educating them, but also being their primary source of food and discipline. The educational books have been “dumbed down” to a level where many college age kids have difficulty making change from a $5 bill. The good news is that although kids can no longer diagram a sentence, they CAN give you the top 30 reasons- in alphabetical order- that global warming must be stopped, and they ARE adept at interpreting a sentence like “im da friggin man ov my ^^^ block.”

Priorities, you know….

They are no longer individuals, they have now become a collective unit of useful idiots.

Useful idiots. These were Lenin’s people. These folks are the key to a successful communist regime. These are the citizens of a dictatorship who never think, they just act. Like good, little comrads, they believe what they’ve been told to be true, never questioning, never allowing themselves to draw rational conclusions. You see, if useful idiots were actually taught the power of reasoning, they would never vote themselves into slavery, never vote themselves into oppression.

They would understand the power in numbers.

There is only one reason that the college kids of today are supporters of guys like Barack Obama and his merry men: They have been taught from a young age to ignore individual reasoning and replace it with collective reasoning. They are taught that their own aspirations are not nearly as important as “saving the grass” or “serving” the government. They learn that guys like Marx and Che and Castro aren’t evil, they’re “cool”— if you denounce them, you will be scoffed at by your peers and your instructors, all of whom know better than you. It’s a form of peer pressure.

You, too, want to be associated with the “cool” group.

Here’s the irony: If any demographic has reason to protest our current administration, it is those young students in college. These future earners are the ones who are the most affected by the lack of jobs. They attend college for years, spending thousands of dollars educating themselves in an effort to eventually get out into the workplace and become successful, only to be told that the “good-paying” jobs that they covet are not available, especially to an inexperienced student.

Can they not see this?

They are the demographic who can least afford the high gas prices as they drive around in their old beaters. They are the group who will pay into social security for 30 years but never see a dime back. They are the group who will watch their taxes skyrocket, watch their paychecks dwindle, watch the demise of healthcare, and watch as potential job opportunities are moved overseas due to taxes and regulations.

They are the group who will pay for the sins of our previous and current political decisions. If we vote to raise the debt ceiling, to bail out the banks again, to bail out another corporation like GM, to allow the current level of spending, or to subsidize worthless forms of alternative energy, it is the youth of today who will eventually pay.

We’re all riding on their backs.

Liberal politicians are telling the college students that these unsustainable economic problems can be quickly solved if only the “rich” would redistribute more of their income. You see, excessive entitlement spending isn’t the problem, the “greedy rich” are the problem.

Believing the propaganda, the useful idiots- the students- then rise up and protest. Loudly. They join hands with the power-hungry union leaders and the socialists to collectively raise their fists in a show of solidarity. Hey, it’s fun, as a kid, to rally with a rebellious group. It’s fun to wave signs, run through the streets, and regurgitate professors’ words from a bullhorn.

It’s fun to be anti-establishment…

It won’t be nearly as much fun when the real world hits, the jobs are not available, the education they received doesn’t get them to the promised land, and whatever they earn goes back to the government in the form of high taxes.

The same taxes they marched to increase in college.

When it wasn’t their money.

If they are lucky, these kids will leave college and become successful-aka, “greedy rich”. Their wealth, no matter how it’s earned, will be redistributed to others who are needy, who choose not to work, and who didn’t want an education.

It is these young minds that the socialists need to further their cause….

Notice that when Barack Obama wants to get his message to the masses, he simply shows up on a college campus, a place where indoctrination has replaced critical thinking. He talks like the professor he was, imploring the youth to follow his lead. The students have heard this type of rhetoric for over 12 years and it plays like music to their ears.

All they’ve ever learned is that the sky is green. And so it is.

One day, when they look up and allow their eyes to focus on reality, they will see the blue skies. But by then it will be too late, by then they will have voted themselves into an economic mess, the likes of which this country has never seen before.

It is then they will realize that they were used, abused, and discarded by a government with an evil agenda.

These kids were never the “freedom-loving”, “tolerant” intellectuals who were protesting for a “cause” as they had been told.

They were merely a vote, a useful idiot.

We’ve heard it for 2 solid years: “Elections have consequences.” Nancy Pelosi reminded us, Harry Reid reminded us, Rahm Emanuel reminded us. Every time they crammed another piece of legislation down our throats, they made it perfectly clear.

This is what we voted for.

When President Obama wanted to stop the debate on health care, on the Stimulus, on the bailouts, he used two, simple words: “I won.”

In November of 2010, Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin won, too, a feat that seems to have gone unnoticed by the democrats. Walker campaigned on a platform that included a balanced budget and the reform of collective bargaining for public unions. On election night, his fellow Wisconsinites gave him the green light to implement his agenda.

This is, obviously, easier said than done.

Two months into his first term, Gov. Scott Walker has begun the unpleasant job of getting his state’s house in order. He proposed a solution to the budget woes: Ask teachers to contribute more to their pensions and healthcare plans and ask the NEA- the teachers’ union- to give up collective bargaining for these entitlement issues. The union would still retain the ability to collectively bargain for teacher’s wages.

Is this unreasonable?

Not to the average, hard-working, non-union, private sector American. You see, in these tough economic times, folks in the private sector are not only working to pay for their own pensions and their own healthcare benefits, but their tax dollars are also paying for these teachers’ salaries, pensions, and healthcare premiums. Those who work in the private sector have no guarantee of a job on Monday morning- unlike teachers, they can be fired at any time. If, for example, they called in “sick” to work for a few days and then were seen protesting on national TV, they would probably find themselves out of a job.

Thanks to the comfort of their union, teachers can basically get “sick” anytime they want. They can also show up for work with a fake “sick” note which states they have “Walker Pneumonia” and school officials laugh and think it’s cute, knowing full-well that it’s a farce.

The parents of children who are stranded at home don’t happen to think it’s quite as “cute” as the school officials do. Not only are these parents forced to make alternative plans for their children when the schools are shut down, they are also losing valuable school days of learning, days that THEY have paid for. To add salt to the wound, these working parents are being verbally assaulted as “greedy rich folks” who should pay MORE in taxes so that the “underpaid” teachers are compensated for their hard work.

We now find out that in Wisconsin, where the average private sector job makes about $40,000 per year, teachers are making between $65,000 and $100,000 in salary and benefits in a 9 month period.

Oh, and they get 10 days off at Christmas, along with a Spring Break and every holiday under the sun.

We’re also hearing that in Wisconsin, 2/3 of 8th graders can’t read “proficiently”. Their math scores aren’t much better.

Huh.

Something ain’t right.

I get tired of hearing about all the “good” teachers there are out there.

There are a lot of bad ones, too. My kids have had plenty of them. In fact, after my personal experience of having 5 children in various schools for the past 20 years, I would say that 1/3 of the public school teachers are good, 1/3 are average, and 1/3 are horrible.

Horrible.

My son had a teacher who took 2 weeks off of school in September to have her eyes “done”. Yes, she waited until after the summer break to get this little bit of plastic surgery to give her the “lift” she needed. Another teacher waited until the end of the year to tell me that she had “missed” my child’s obvious learning problems because her mother had breast cancer. We had the teacher who was “overwhelmed”, the teacher who “yelled all the time”, the teacher who talked on the phone to her boyfriend everyday during class, the teacher who spent the majority of her class time trying to save the whales, the teacher who grabbed my child by the shirt and shook him because he forgot to give me a sheet to sign, the teacher who smelled so bad the kids couldn’t stand to be around him, and the teacher who told my child, “It’s people like you who are what’s wrong with this world”, when he objected to welfare for those who are able-bodied.

I could go on and on….

Every year, parents cross their fingers that their child doesn’t get Mrs. X , the teacher everybody “hates”, when the school year begins. Every year, parents chat with each other about the teachers to avoid- the ones who have a bad attitude, a bad teaching style, are half nuts, can’t teach, or simply dislike kids. And every year, principals get visits from angry or anxious parents, hoping to get a teacher change for their child before the year begins. No one wants their kid in a classroom for an entire year with a bad teacher.

We, the taxpayers, are funding these teachers…the good, the bad, and the really bad.

Sadly, none can be fired. Yet, the mantra continues: “This is all about the kids.”

Time to be honest. This has nothing- NOTHING- to do with the kids.

We are also paying the salaries of the 14 Senate Democrats who fled the state so that this controversial bill can’t be passed.

Where did these democrats flee? Well, they’re finding refuge in neighboring Illinois, the land of corrupt democrats, the land of politicians who don’t play by the rules. Everyone is wondering where these Wisconsin politicians are staying….

I’d check Barack Obama’s empty house. They might be tucked in Sasha and Malia’s beds.

Elections, my friends, have consequences. Barack and Nancy and Harry and Barney and all of their buddies have made that perfectly clear. Now it’s our turn. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

It’s also good for the country.

Governor Walker has threatened lay-offs for state employees if the bill isn’t voted on by next week. My personal plea to this man is simply this: Please don’t back down. Don’t compromise. Don’t reach across the aisle.

There are times in life when the battle is worth the effort.

This, folks, is one of those times.

Our federal government, the same government that can’t seem to find anything to cut in its budget, is giving a few lucky school districts each $1.3 Million over 5 years to indoctrinate their students with Arabic language and culture.

You and I are paying for this.

It seems that one of the lucky recipients is the Mansfield ISD in Texas. They informed parents on Monday that last summer, they had applied for and been awarded this grant and would begin implementing it into a couple of their schools next Fall. The Arabic curriculum, including classes in language, culture, and history, would be mandatory for all of the students in these particular schools.

Public schools.

The same schools that don’t allow Christmas to be celebrated, the bible to be mentioned, or the word “God” to be displayed.

How do you teach Arabic culture and history without a mention of Allah, Mohamed or the Koran? How do you explain history in the Middle East without teaching about the Arabs’ hatred for the Jews? How do you teach the kids about the culture of the Middle East without mentioning that honor killings are considered acceptable behavior, stonings are a proper punishment for a woman who’s been raped, and that the RULERS of countries- like Saddam Hussein, for example- thought nothing of cutting off someone’s hands or exterminating his own people with weapons of mass destruction?

And then how will these schools do a complete one-eighty and preach that there were NO weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and that Saddam Hussein was a nice man who was wrongly toppled by the mean, western, imperialist America?

Why are we doing this? Why is our government encouraging Arabic culture? Well, the school officials tell us that “Arabic is the language of the future”…… and this education will give students an advantage with jobs in the future.

What jobs? Jobs digging a cave in Afghanistan? Jobs selling goods at a flea market in Lebanon? Jobs at the nuclear plant in Iran? We are infidels!! We are not accepted in most Middle Eastern countries! There are 3 young American students who are on trial in Iran as we speak because they accidentally crossed into Iranian land while hiking.

Honestly.

I wonder if the new Arabic school will teach these kids about the oppression of women, the killing of gays, the selling of children for marriage? These students might be a bit confused when their new sex-ed course encourages them to consider a gay lifestyle and doles out condoms, but their Arabic culture class tells them that if they ARE gay or have premarital sex, they will be slaughtered.

It’s simply absurd.

Thankfully, there is still some sanity in this world. It seems that many of the Mansfield parents- and other Americans throughout the country- have created quite a stir and are putting pressure on the school board to stop this Arabic program from proceeding. The Texas school district has now put a “hold” on the program, awaiting further discussion.

Whew….We’re all heaving a collective sigh of relief. Yet, we have to ask ourselves, “How did we ever get to this place? How did we ever allow the educational system in this country to become a place where American culture and the English language is secondary to Arabic?”

My God, what are we doing…..?

We are taking our innocent 5 year olds and trusting their little brains to a group of adults who want to experiment with them. These educational “scientists” want to indoctrinate them with Arabic drivel and Spanish drivel and homosexual drivel. Children no longer need to learn proper English grammar- Lord knows they can’t diagram a sentence. They no longer need to learn about Christopher Columbus (that imperialist) or the Founding Fathers (those horrible slave owners). They can now learn the marvels in the Middle East, that warm, fuzzy place where bombs are strapped to the backs of small children as a sacrifice to the great Allah.

Are we stupid?

Liberals are defending the new agenda in our public schools without a second glance, stating that “learning a second language keeps you from being a stereotypical, idiotic American tourist.” OK, whatever…..

They are too proud, too defensive, and have too much invested to admit that something ain’t right here. Sadly, they continue to argue that they’re doing this “for the kids”, it’s always about the kids and about “tolerance.”

Yup, that’s it- tolerance.

The truth is that there are forces within our government attempting to slowly acclimate society to the rule of Shariah. Muslims are simply hoping to get a foot in the door and educate the next generation…they don’t care about you and I, they care about indoctrinating our kids.

The truth is that unionized teachers don’t want to lose their jobs and their pensions- and they are completely intimidated by the establishment- so they go along with the insanity.

The good news is that there is now a definitive political line being drawn in our country. Gone are the Blue Dogs, gone are some of the moderate republicans. The gray area is disappearing. Democrats, if challenged, will have to defend their far left positions, their support for condom distribution, for a gay sex agenda in schools, for global warming, for late-term abortion, for redistribution of wealth, for union control, for new light bulbs, for taxing and spending, for socialized medicine and death panels, for smoking bans in parks, for an open border, for tolerance of Shariah, and for big government control- including the control over YOUR intake of salt, sugar, soda, and fat.

And they still profess- with a straight face- that they love freedom.

When I hear republicans say that we don’t have a candidate who can beat Barack Obama in 2012, I am appalled. Any moron should be able to topple this man and his socialist administration. All we need is someone in a suit who can stand before the American public and make our case.

Loud and clear.

Who needs parents?….we have schools.

Our “cash-strapped” public schools just keep taking on more and more responsibility, don’t they? They’re now responsible for feeding our kids 2-3 square meals a day. They enlighten our children with good, old-fashioned gay sex education, offering them condoms to encourage “good” behavior. They monitor internet and text messages to make sure that there isn’t any “hate speech” or “bullying” being passed around. They also monitor out-of-school activity, nosing into weekend parties and summer activities and doling out punishments when they feel it’s necessary. They counsel our pregnant girls, helping to facilitate their abortions without their parents’ consent. Hey, they even check our kids for lice!!

Now we find out that one school district in New Jersey may be giving drug tests to 6th graders.

Parents, it seems, have been deemed insignificant. They are simply needed to produce the offspring and provide the funds necessary for the state to raise them.

Funds are extremely important to the “village” raising your child.

Where else would they get money for the condoms and drug tests?

The feminists- the same ones who burned their bras and didn’t want to be strapped with pesky children all day- must feel a sense of accomplishment as they’ve managed to push their responsibility of being mommies onto nannies, babysitters, day care workers, and teachers.

Fathers, who are wired to be the providers for their families, have been demeaned and beaten down to a point where they are no longer needed to raise children, they are needed only for their sperm and their wallet.

Oh, and their signature on a school form which says that the school has all jurisdiction over their children.

Thank goodness that we’re finally beginning to see some parents create a fuss. We’re hearing more and more stories of parents attending school board meetings and questioning the board members over absurd policies:

In Montana, a proposed sex education program that teaches fifth-graders the different ways people have intercourse and first-graders about gay love has infuriated parents and forced the school board to take a closer look at the issue.

And this:

The chairman of a Cape Cod school committee says members will “revisit” a new policy allowing even elementary school students to receive free condoms without the knowledge of their parents. Peter Grosso tells The Boston Globe he thinks it is a “great” policy but that the Provincetown committee would reconsider after the policy was assailed by many parents

There was a “mandatory” meeting for parents in Swampscott, Massachusetts pertaining to drug and alcohol abuse by students. Any child who’s parent didn’t attend would “jeopardize their children’s eligibility for sports and other extracurricular activities.” The headline in the paper the next day read as follows: “Parents barred from speaking at meeting they’re forced to attend.” They were instructed to sit down and shut up while the school officials lectured them.

Excuse me… Who is PAYING the salary of these high and mighty school administrators? Who are the PARENTS of these children and why do they NOT have a say in their child’s education or discipline?

A Seattle mother identified as “Jill” was infuriated when her daughter had an abortion without her knowledge during school hours:

The mother of a Ballard High School student is fuming after the health center on campus helped facilitate her daughter’s abortion during school hours. The mother says the clinic kept the information “confidential.”

When she signed a consent form, Jill figured it meant her 15 year old could go to the Ballard Teen Health Center located inside the high school for an earache, a sports physical, even birth control, but not for help terminating a pregnancy. Jill says her daughter, a pro-life advocate, was given a pass, put in a taxi and sent off to have an abortion during school hours all without her family knowing. “We had no idea this was being facilitated on campus,” said Jill. “They just told her that if she concealed it from her family, that it would be free of charge and no financial responsibility.”

Now we hear rumblings from the Department of Education that if we want to keep education in line with the rest of the world, we must consider year-round school and government-run pre-school……

Even as the same school officials are grumbling that we need more funding for our current level of education.

What if I want my child home with me until they’re 5? What if I just want to send my preschooler to a program that meets a couple of hours per week so that I can have my child with ME during the day? Show me the studies which prove that my child is better off in the hands of an overworked, overstressed teacher than they are with me. Show me the studies which prove that my child will be a better reader, a better speller, a more stable human being if they spend more time with a teacher than with me….

I’ve raised 5 kids and watched hundreds of others come through my doors. I’ve done my own private studies. Kids who have a stable home-life and have parents who guide them have a much better chance at a stable life themselves.

Period. End of study.

Wake up parents…Can’t you see that the “state” wants COMPLETE control of your children? They don’t care about YOUR values, YOUR morals, YOUR family policies. As Michelle Obama so eloquently stated about YOUR child’s nutrition, ” We can’t just leave it up to the parents.” The government wants to tell your kids what to eat, what to learn, how to act, how to have sex, when to have an abortion, what is “bullying”, and who can pray in schools (hint: Muslims can!!). They are demanding that kids spend more time in school and are punishing kids for things they do outside of school and off of school grounds.

Think about it: They want to take over the duties of the primary parent and make you into the person who helps with homework and finishes school projects. It’s complete role-reversal.

We’re allowing this. We’re allowing our government to slowly take away our parental rights.

If watching our government take away the most precious thing in our lives doesn’t spur some action by American parents, then our country is lost. ANYONE who quietly allows their children to be raised by rogue government administrators and teachers should be shot.

“Shot”? Oh, my……

Yeah, I said it— and I’m not apologizing.

We knew it was too good to be true.  

Jim Oberstar is not going away after all.  After leaving his worn-out seat in Congress, it seems Jim will be moving on to a yet-to-be-determined job at the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota.  The Star Tribune tells us that he’s “exploring some role as a visiting scholar, lecturer, or author.”

This is government code for “we don’t know what he’ll be doing, however, we’ll be paying him to do it…..”

Whether taxpayers like it or not.

You know, guys like Jim have lived off the government dole for so long, they know no other way of life. They come out of Congress, virtually unqualified for life in the REAL world because they’ve just spent their entire careers sitting in meetings and placing votes on legislation- most of which they never read and can’t comprehend or defend. They lived a life of tax-payer funded parties and vacations, along with a nice, tax-payer funded salary.

They think of themselves as “important.”

So what should Mr. Oberstar do now that he’s left Congress?

How about a desk job, Jim?  How about going back to Chisholm and working at Tom and Jerry’s bar?  How about starting a little business and finding out what it’s like to try to start a company under the insane regulations you voted for time and time again?

How about moving back to the Iron Range and living amongst the people who are struggling in this economy, the economy that you helped to create? How about explaining why you added to their struggle as these new “green” energy programs -the ones you voted for -come to fruition? How about defending your actions on the Clean Water Act if these folks lose their fishing rights and hunting land? How about watching folks lose their mining jobs as more environmental regulations come in? How about “manning-up” and facing the people, the same ones who you’ve virtually ignored- other than at election time- for the past 36 years?

Why do you have to get a job at the University where you can get your hands on our kids and fill their minds with utopic, socialist drivel?

When talking about life after Congress, “Oberstar swore off the usual post-congressional lobbying gig. “There has to be some other way to do good,” he said. “

Good?

Good? Why is working for the government considered “doing good”?

Jim has been collecting a nice salary for the past 36 years.  The salary of the average congressman is $174,000.  Oberstar will be collecting a pretty nice pension because he “served” for such a long time.  According to Info.gov, the pension of a congressman is hard to generalize because it is dependent upon age, time served, etc., but “cannot exceed 80% of their final salary.”

Whew.  At least we know Jim won’t be making more than $139,200 per year in yearly pension. If he’s like most members of Congress, he’s been collecting Social Security benefits for years and will continue to do so. Oh, and I assume that his wife will be collecting her social security, too….which seems a little weird because democrats like Jim are always telling us that “the rich” shouldn’t be allowed to collect social security.

Maybe Jim will forego his pension, his benefits, and his wife’s social security for the “collective good.”

Don’t hold your breath.

Yes folks, we saw how a lifetime of Washington politics can warp even a small-town Iron-Ranger like Jim Oberstar over the years. I’m sure there was a day when he cared enough about his district to come to his home-town parade or hold a health care townhall meeting. “Congressman” Jim was too busy with “important” Washington stuff. At the pre-election debate in Duluth against Chip Cravaack, it became abundantly clear that any resemblance of humility in this man was long-gone as he accused the disgruntled crowd of former supporters of being “flat-earthers”.

Thomas Paine once said about John Adams: “It has been the political career of this man to begin with hypocrisy, proceed with arrogance, and finish with contempt”

The same could be said of Mr. Oberstar. His arrogance was on full display this Fall, especially during the debates. Jim’s contempt has now become obvious as he destroyed all of his official records, even those which were not of a personal nature, in lieu of handing them to Chip Cravaack to help with the transition of power. Oberstar didn’t even have the decency to call and congratulate the new legislator.

Are these the actions of a “government servant” who is concerned with doing “good” ?

Me thinks not.

They seem, instead, to be the actions of the out-of-touch man who we’ve now chosen to “mentor” our students at our taxpayer-funded University.

We all know that kids who attend public schools will be indoctrinated in liberal ideology year after year.

Sadly, it’s a given.

Those who want to avoid that indoctrination have only two other choices: Spend a ton of money and send your child to private school or drive yourself nuts as you home school your kids.

I’m already nuts- just ask my husband. Homeschooling wasn’t for me.

Most of our kids were sent to private, Catholic schools. When we originally made that decision, we naively hoped to avoid the liberal teachings because we wanted our children to have a more “balanced” education, one that steered clear of liberal teachings and included morality, values- and, yes, a bit of faith.

Strangely enough, I’ve received quite an education over the past 15 years. I’m the one who’s no longer naive. I’m the parent who has watched as time and time again, these Catholic schools have proven themselves to be no more than public schools with some theology and a hefty price tag. Oh, they do a great job of making sure the boys tuck in their uniform shirts. They hold weekly mass and allow prayer in the classroom. They collect mittens at Christmastime and take some of their students on mission trips to help the poor. But in the classroom where the actual teaching occurs, the same liberal ideology that we see in public schools throughout the country is alive and well. Behind closed doors, most of the teachers at these institutions are happily sharing their liberal agenda with their students.

My son came home from his private school the other day with the news that he is watching “An Inconvenient Truth” - Al Gore’s “global warming” documentary- in religion class.

In religion class.

I decided that a call to the teacher was in order, especially in light of the current data which challenges the “facts” in this movie. As a conservative, I wanted to be assured that the kids would also hear the other side of the argument.

Mr. M was happy to take my call. He cheerfully explained that his intent with this film was simply to follow the Bishops’ lead and teach the children to be good stewards of the earth. I asked if he would also enlighten the children about the false science in the movie like the debunked theory about the Himalayan glaciers melting and the equally disturbing lie about the rainforests being destroyed. Oh, and the new evidence indicating that the hockey stick graph is a contrived farce. I asked if he’d explain the emails from East Anglia University, where the scientists discussed ways to alter the global warming statistics to their advantage. I asked if he’d tell the kids about Lord Christopher Monckton who took this documentary into the British courts and prevailed in a judgment proving many of Gore’s “truths” to be manufactured hoaxes.

I asked him if he would explain to them about Dr. Lizden, the scientist at MIT who just finished a massive study in which he proves that the “Greenhouse Effect” doesn’t exist in our atmosphere. I wanted to know if he’d mention that about 70 new scientists have now jumped OFF the global warming bandwagon they were once a part of.

I even asked Mr. M if he’d like me to come in and speak to the class- you know, to give the kids both sides of the argument, or in a liberal’s words, “to be fair.”

Mr. M didn’t care for my offer. It doesn’t appear that he wants “fair” in his classroom.

As we continued to speak, I discovered that my child was also required to watch the movie, “Who Killed the Electric Car?” and take notes on it. Again, this is for religion class.

Mr. M explained that “pollution is a terrible problem”, one that the students needed to learn about if they were to be good stewards of the earth. I told him that I have no problem with him teaching the kids about caring for the earth, I simply don’t like the way in which he is doing it. Indoctrination, especially with false “facts”, is not the way for our kids to learn. I’ve heard from other teachers and students that Mr. M doesn’t allow discussion in his classroom because he feels that he, alone, is the expert on most issues.

I talked with Mr. M about the current administration in Washington, people like Nancy Pelosi who fly around in their special, high-carbon footprint jets because they don’t want to fly commercial with the rest of us. I mentioned that the socialist agenda that these folks in Washington are trying to cram down our throats is diabolically opposed to the very religion that he claims to love.

He seemed perplexed…

Look to any country that espouses socialism and Marxism. People must pray in private. Ask anyone who’s lived in the Soviet Union or South Vietnam about the ability to practice religion in their former countries. Look at the empty churches in Europe, buildings which are no longer functioning as places of prayer, but have turned into museums and tourist attractions.

I told Mr. M that the people who promote global warming are the same folks who want to take “In God We Trust” off of the dollar and take religious monuments from our government buildings. They are the folks who have tried to shut down bible study groups in Arizona and California. They are the folks who won’t allow our kids to sing “God Bless America” in public school.

Sadly, Mr. M is a very religious man, he just can’t connect the dots. He, himself, is caught up in the hype, caught up in the liberal way of thinking. He’s been conditioned by our society to blindly believe what these liberals dish out- not looking down the road at the destruction their policies will have on our society.

And he’s passing it along to our kids. My kids.

All of this great indoctrination for a mere $11,000/year.

Mr. M and other liberal teachers don’t particularly like parents like me. We stifle their utopic thought. We challenge their so-called “truth”. They “just want to live in a world where everybody just loves everybody, where we all exist on one, big, happy earth.”

And clouds are made of edible cotton candy….

Note to Mr. M: Socialism and communism are utopic in theory only… read a couple of historical memoirs and you’ll see just how “loving” Stalin, Mao, and Hitler were.

To be fair, there are advantages to private education, but it’s important to understand that “private” or “Catholic” doesn’t mean conservative. It doesn’t even necessarily mean “pro-life”. The teachers at these private schools have their own agenda, and most of them are teaching the same liberal crap that you get at a public school.

My advice? Home school your kids…

…even if it makes you nuts.

Attaching controversial legislation to a defense bill is something that the democrats have done before.

That’s how we got the Hate Crimes Act.

Neither democrats nor republicans want to be on record as voting against the troops, so they swallow hard and vote for a controversial amendment, hoping the American people are sleeping….

You see, while we are sleeping, like thieves in the night, our leaders rob us blind.

Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader and head “thief”, must know that his days in the Senate are numbered. He’s in a tight race with Republican, Sharon Angle, yet he is attaching a controversial amendment- The Dream Act- to a defense bill which would give special preference to illegal immigrants when it comes to college education.

Is this political suicide on Reid’s part or does he naively believe that the American people are a bunch of idiots?

In a nutshell, The DREAM Act, states that a child who is an illegal immigrant will have opportunities for education not shared by children from taxpaying citizens. A kid who lives illegally in Minnesota, for example, will be accepted to the U of M at residential tuition rates, as opposed to a citizen from Indiana, who has to pay full tuition. “So what’s the big deal?” you ask. I’ll tell you what the “big deal” is -$11,630 per year. You see, full tuition in the 2010 school year for an undergraduate degree is $22,724; Residential tuition is $11,094.

Do the math.

The difference for a four year degree is about fifty thousand dollars. We are giving preference to children who’s parents are breaking the law, and penalizing children who’s taxpaying, law-abiding parents choose to live in a different state.

Once again, it doesn’t pay to follow the law. Our government continuously wants to reward the irresponsible. What Harry is proposing is that we, as working taxpayers, not only get the luxury of supporting the illegals’ healthcare, welfare, and primary education, we’ll now be on the dole to help pay for their college.

Not only will these illegal students get financial help with their education, but they will also get preference in acceptance to these colleges due to affirmative action rules. And now that Barack and his merry men have taken over the student loan program, there is no end to the financing and special treatment that could be given to this group of potential voters.

So these illegal students will be forever indebted to the democrat party for their college education…..

Huh.

Why shouldn’t we bend over backwards to finance those who are here illegally?

It’s called consequences, folks. Illegal immigrants know when they break into our country, their life will include a certain veil of secrecy. It’s the choice they’ve made. They purchase fake social security numbers, they drive cars without licenses, they enter emergency rooms without health insurance, they enroll in schools, and some are even illegally voting.

These are all done with great intent.

The common argument is that illegals “just want a better life” for their families, and while that’s a great soundbite, don’t start the violins and the tears just yet. Someone who robs the corner grocery store may also “just want a better life.” Someone who steals your Visa Card number may just be looking for “a better way of life”. Rewarding lawless behavior is sending the wrong message.

One more big issue with the DREAM Act: it clears a path for amnesty, not just for the student, but for the relatives, too. Students would be allowed to sponsor relatives and gain amnesty for many of them. It will obviously encourage more illegals to come across our border to receive this education/amnesty gift, and the cycle will perpetuate.

Look no further than California to see the financial ramifications of this illegal population.

As the violence in Mexico perpetuates and grows, the desire of Mexicans to flee to “safety” is also growing. Who can blame them? But our country is broken, both culturally and economically. We need to get our own “house in order” before we allow a rash of illegals to invade the country and suck it dry.

It’s time that we prioritize Americans.

You see, a sick country cannot help anyone unless it heals itself first.

The United states isn’t just “sick”, it’s terminal.

Harry Reid knows a bit about being terminal. He’s trying to do everything in his power to take the country down with him before January.

I guess “power” is a terrible thing to waste.

When I heard that Cleveland, Ohio, was starting a program which embeds RDIF chips into their garbage bins, enabling the government to locate and fine citizens who don’t recycle, I thought we had hit a low point in America.

Until today.

You see, today I learned that a California school district is using some of its $115,000 of Stimulus money for a program that requires students to wear vests embedded with RDIF chips so school officials can track their every move throughout the school day.

It’s for their own “good”, you know.

A World Net Daily article describes how the chip is to be used: “A parent or someone signs a child into the system on arrival in the morning. The child then is given a jersey with an RFID – or tracking – device embedded. The tab transmits data to various receivers around the school, and computers monitor the child’s movements and activities.”

The school district claims that the vests will help insure the “safety” of the children. At TechNewsDaily, Karen Mitchoff, a spokeswoman for the Human Services agency that set up this RDIF Vest program, explained that “the program would free up teachers from having to fulfill administrative duties such as attendance – and recording when children eat.”

Silly me, I didn’t realize that taking attendance was such a taxing part of the day. I seem to remember my teachers merely looking at our assigned seats, noting those desks which were empty, and writing down the names of students who were missing from their desks. I’d venture to guess that the entire exercise took a total of 2 minutes.

And I’m not really sure why teachers need to “record when children eat.” Isn’t there a lunch break? Do we have a problem with children randomly eating throughout the day? Are we finding unattended children wandering through the halls eating pretzels and drinking pop?

Oh, but these vests will help in other ways, too- or so says Ms. Mitchoff : “This just helps us to know where that child is at all times,” Mitchoff said. “Not that the teachers wouldn’t know where they are. It’s just an assist to teachers. It frees up teachers to spend more time with students and less time on paperwork, attendance and meal schedules.”

I’m perplexed. Putting a “chip” on a child helps with paperwork?

Hmm…..

What’s really going on here?

OK, let’s dig deep into the bag of “common sense” and try to decipher what exactly is happening. First of all, “chips” were originally designed to be used on cattle and dogs to keep track of an animal that strayed from the fold. This was not a “privacy” issue because animals do not have the privacy rights that American citizens do.

Yet, look into the teachings of Cass Sunstein, our regulatory czar, and you will find a man who believes that animals have rights that are equivalent to humans. He thinks that dogs should be able to get lawyers and sue their owners. By equating animals and humans, we get a blurred line, one which allows humans to be treated like dogs and vice versa. Suddenly, controlling humans is no different than branding cattle.

Get it?

And this man has the power to make this happen. It’s scary stuff.

Privacy isn’t the only issue here. We must remember that children who have been brought up with monitoring their entire lives will be much more complacent when the government wants to continue to monitor them into adulthood. They will not “balk” at a system of control; in fact, it will feel quite natural to them.

This is not about “the kids” and their safety, folks, it’s about government control. School officials now identify and label all students with some sort of learning disability as quickly as they can. Almost every quirk qualifies. ( I know a child who was labeled as “disabled” because he learned better if the text was written in a certain font.) They then encourage parents to medicate those kids- “so that they can learn easier”, when in fact, the medication simply helps the teacher to do their job.

As a wise man (who studies the brain for a living) once told me, “This is the brain that God gave these kids, this is the brain they must learn to live with. Medication sometimes slows down this process.” He, of course, was not referring to kids who have a REAL medical problem, just the thousands of children who are medicated each year so that they “fit in” to the classroom.

You know, the ones we used to refer to as “the class clowns.”

Now we want to take these medicated zombies, stick them in a vest, and monitor their every movement.

Just like cattle.

Just like a garbage can.

Huh.

On January 10, 1963, a list of 45 communist goals was presented to Congress, a list detailing the steps that communists intended to use to destroy the American way of life and replace it with their own brand of governance- one that included atheism and control.

In 1963, this list was laughable. It talked of “gaining control of the schools, the school boards, the school newspapers.” It spoke of “infiltrating the press, getting control of TV stations, discrediting the Constitution and the Founding Fathers.” It talked about things like “controlling the unions” and “infiltrating the churches.”

It all seemed far-reaching in a time of baseball, apple pie, religious values, and family cohesiveness.

Rules #25- 26 were the most far-reaching of all: Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV. Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

During a time when “Father Knew Best” and the word “pregnant” couldn’t be heard on a TV screen, these communist goals must have seemed ridiculous. Who in their right mind would EVER allow pornography on TV? Who would ever consider promiscuity to be “normal”?

Well, 50 years later, we now see that these communists have accomplished their goals. It may have taken a couple of generations, but we now live in a country void of morality, void of modesty, void of decency. It has been replaced by a country where mothers buy thong underwear for their 10 year olds and where the government is pushing graphic, homosexual sex into our public school health classes.

Oh, and condoms replace lollipops as a reward for good behavior.

Lollipops have sugar, you know…..

On September 5th, Philadelphia held its 2nd Annual “Naked Bike Ride”, an event meant to bring awareness to issues such as the environment, body image, and peace. About 1000 of these “peace-loving” individuals participated- many were completely naked, some were partially clothed and others were so heavily body-painted that they appeared to have clothing.

It was a beautiful thing.

All were biking for a cause, a cause that represents the degradation of society. They want to be “free” of chains, “free” to express themselves, “free” to be individuals. Those who support this form of expression argue that these naked individuals “enhance” the diversity of the city; they add a cultural element which seems to be lacking from plain, ordinary, hard-working citizens.

You know, those fuddy-duddies, the ones who wear clothes and go to church on Sunday.

I’m perplexed. How does biking naked to honor peace and the environment help anyone? Wouldn’t joining the Peace Corp or picking up trash on the side of the street be a much more productive way to help the “cause”? How does exposing your naked body to the world scream, “I’m peaceful”?

Call me stupid.

And why doesn’t law enforcement haul these kids away on indecency charges? The police have no problem enforcing seat belt laws and fining drivers for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign because, as they explain, , “it’s the law.” Well, “indecent exposure” is a law, too. Why are these offenders not ticketed and fined like the rest of us?

When do we, as average Americans, have the right to be “offended” and treated equally?

It’s taken years, but the liberal system of education has finally caught up to us. Our kids don’t understand that modesty is a good thing, instead, they’re being taught to “celebrate” their bodies and “explore” their sexuality. Teachers encourage them to try homosexual sex, to explore the world of oral sex, to use the condom that they’ve just handed out….

It’s all been pushed through the schools under the guise of “anti-bullying”, “tolerance”, “health”, and “protection.” It’s sold to the parents along with increasing statistics of STD’s and teen pregnancy, frightening parents into believing that they need the government’s help to keep their child safe – when in fact, sex ed and STD’s increase in tandem.

Parents are not allowed to have standards or morals without being called “judgmental”. We’re told to sit down and shut up, the youth of today know best. Americans know deep down that this country cannot continue on its current path without serious repercussions, yet, we shake our heads and turn away from what’s happening because that’s the easy way out.

As Dennis Prager tells us , “The easy way out leads to a life of unhappiness.” Would you say that our country is “happy” right now? Are we happy with what our kids are learning in schools, the values society teaches them, the messages they see on TV?

Is our country better because we’ve allowed it to become sexually expressive?

Me thinks not.

Parents who lived through the 60′s became parents who wanted to retain their “live and let live” mentality, not realizing the repercussions it would have on their kids and society as a whole. The communist movement has capitalized on and enhanced this way of thinking, using it to their advantage at every turn.

Communists are looking at their 50 year old list of communist goals, smirking as they realize how close they are to achieving their “utopic”, socialist America.

They have our schools, our unions, our newspapers, our TV. They’ve made pornography, divorce, obscenity, and indecency the norm. They’ve infiltrated our religion, our history books, our art museums. They’ve changed our culture from one of wholesome family values to one void of morality.

And they’re not done. Now the “fun” starts….

Here’s the truth, folks: The day they win….we lose.

After studying the ideals of the radical Left, I’m beginning to understand that there is an agenda unfolding inside of our public schools. Gone are the days when we taught our children Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. Along with other senseless drivel, we now teach our kids that global warming is threatening their very survival and that condoms come in many flavors and colors.

Here’s what I don’t understand: Where are we finding mindless teachers who willingly go along with this current program?

And how can these same mindless teachers give a portion of their salaries to a teachers’ union (NEA) which is actively working AGAINST our kids, AGAINST our country, AGAINST freedom for Americans, and FOR a radical, gay agenda?

Like giving candy to a baby, teachers and professors are selling a Leftist bill of goods to their students.

Our kids are buying it- hook, line, and sinker. Why wouldn’t they? “Mrs. X is a really nice lady with really pretty hair and she tells us that the world is getting warmer and the polar bears are dying- so it must be happening. Mrs. X wouldn’t lie, would she?”

“Mr. Y tells us that sex is OK with boys and girls- or both- as long as you like each other- and that oral sex is really safe because you can’t get pregnant. ”

In many schools, the days are filled with new, innovative ways to get the kids to learn, however, much of what they are learning is a waste of time. For example, the NEA website encourages teachers to create a Poetry Calendar with their students. This activity involves charting poets’ birthdays on a calendar, and then charting and discussing works from the various poets. There’s even a section about designing a Poet t-shirt and another about staging a “Poetry Slam” whereby kids will perform works of poetry in front of an audience.

This time-consuming adventure is now called “education.”

No wonder my child barely knows his multiplication tables; he’s been busy charting the birthdays of poets.

Few students are educated as well as they were 50 years ago. Why? With computers, technology, nicer schools, and all of these new, innovative learning techniques, why are the kids failing? The democrats claim that there isn’t enough money to go around. Throw a few more dollars at the problem and it will correct itself. Like all good-intentioned liberal ideas, this has shown itself to be a bust. The problem isn’t the money, it isn’t the schools.

The problem is much more complicated: It involves the systematic breakdown of our culture and our families. Because of the degradation of society, we no longer teach respect, we no longer hold kids accountable who don’t learn, we no longer teach the basics, we encourage indecency, we encourage kids to question authority, and we allow the “victim” mentality to permeate the schools.

No one can fail. Kids who have been handed $120,000+ of tax-payer money for 12 years of education are graduating without being able to read. Throw all the money you want at something dysfunctional and it will never change unless you get to the root of the problem.

For the past 50 years, communists have dedicated themselves to undermining the culture and the families in America- mainly through education- knowing that if successful, they could gain a stronghold in our country.

They seem to have done a very good job, indeed.

On this same note, the NEA website now promotes the reading of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” by all of its members. This book, as you might know, is dedicated to Lucifer, who Alinsky admired as the “original community organizer.” Alinsky was a known Marxist, a communist. Why would the NEA encourage all members to “become familiar with his theories & materials” ?

What are his theories? Alinsky taught that the “end justifies the means”. He pushed radical tactics of intimidation, confrontation, polarization, and rebellion.

Is this what we want our kids to learn from their teachers?

When our kids finally graduate and go to college, they can take classes that would make you shudder. Occidental College offers a course called, “The Phallus.” It’s cited as studies “between the phallus and the penis, the meaning of the phallus, the lesbian phallus, the Jewish phallus, the Latino phallus….” It’s offered by the department of critical theory and social justice.

Gosh, I hope my kids can get into that one.

Queer Musicology is offered at UCLA. It combines queer theory- “the study of gender, feminism and gayness – with the science of music, to produce a very open-minded course”. The LA Times reported that the course will introduce debates like: “the idea that if you’re gay, then music by gay composers such as Benjamin Britten will sound different to you than it would if you were straight.”

OK then.

There’s also a major called the “Science of Harry Potter” at Frostberg University and another at Indiana University that combines Star Trek with religion.

And we wonder why our kids can’t get a job.

Imagine the money we are spending on this nonsense….

We now know that most of their college history books were written by Howard Zinn, a known communist who skewed historical facts to enhance his view of the world. Theology is often taught by educators who twist biblical teachings to meet their needs. We cannot even count on Catholic colleges to stand up for what’s moral. Notre Dame, for example, brought President Obama in as their commencement speaker and gave him an honorary degree despite his support for infanticide- and despite the cries of millions of Catholics against it.

In a new book by Dr. Tim Elmore, “Generation iY: Our Last Chance to Save Their Future”, the author writes that “I have spoken to employers who told me they will never hire another new graduate. I have heard teachers say they can hardly wait for retirement since they can’t do a thing about kids today. I’ve had parents confide in me that they don’t know what to do with their kids except scream at them.”

The breakdown of the culture, the breakdown of the family…..

Government officials have officially taken over our children. Once they’ve been “educated”, kids no longer think like us, act like us, or want to be like us. They have been warped in a school system designed to warp them.

“Give me 4 years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” Lenin.

What happens in 12 years, Mr. Lenin? What happens to our kids in 12 years?
